    The Malta Institute of Accountants is pleased to host a new edition of its Meet the Regulator Series, featuring representatives from the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU).
    The session will be addressed by Dr Jonathan Phyall, Head within the FIAU's Legal Affairs Section. Additional FIAU speakers are expected to participate and will be confirmed in due course.
    Designed to facilitate constructive dialogue between the profession and the regulator, the session will provide members with an opportunity to gain insights into the FIAU's current priorities, regulatory developments and operational initiatives, while discussing practical challenges encountered in the implementation of AML/CFT obligations.
    The discussion will cover:
    Opportunities, challenges, deficiencies and issues identified by the FIAU, together with actions being undertaken to address them.
    Recent and forthcoming regulatory amendments.
    Recent and planned operational changes, including IT-related developments.
    Key areas of focus for the FIAU and matters of relevance to subject persons.
    Questions and answers with FIAU representatives.
